Accomodation

Living accommodations within the homes of Sienese families are arranged for the greater part of our students. Exceptions are often made for Deaf Studies Track students who may choose instead to live in an apartment for the length of their studies in our program.

Hotel accommodations can also be arranged as an alternative for our adult students.

Remember that living abroad, whether in a homestay, apartment, or hotel, offers students a variety of experiences; each option brings its own respective challenges and benefits. The important thing is to be open-minded, patient, and willing to learn and share with others!

Homestay.

Homestay with a local family facilitates a high level of immersion into Italian culture and promotes a high level of language acquisition. We place you in families that have hosted students for many years and are glad to welcome you into their homes. You will complete a housing form as part of your application that allows us to arrange a suitable placement for you. Families live either in the historic center or in nearby neighborhoods, a short walk or bus ride from downtown. The cost of the homestay includes linens & towels, weekly laundry, and daily breakfast and dinner with the family (great home-cooking!). Students may prepare lunch at the school’s kitchenette or enjoy the many cafes nearby.

Apartments.

Apartments allow for a more independent experience abroad, and a chance to meet other students in a communal environment. Students are provided double rooms in a dormitory or apartment with Italian students in the city center. Both the dormitory and apartments have furnished kitchens, linens & towels, and washing machine. Weekly markets and nearby grocery stores make for easy shopping. Students in all programs may prepare lunch at the school’s kitchenette or eat at the many cafes nearby.

Hotels.

Adult students who prefer the services of a hotel may make their own lodging arrangements. Students may prepare their meals at the school’s kitchenette or eat at the many cafes nearby.
