Visa information

A valid passport is required for all American citizens travelling outside North America. Students enrolling in the Siena School Program will also need a student visa. In order to obtain it you will need to make contact with the Italian Consulate nearest to your permanent address as soon as you receive your acceptance packet from the Siena School.

We have listed below the basic visa requirements that most Consulates will request, but additional documentation may be needed by individual offices:

  • a passport valid for the entire length of your stay
  • a completed visa application
  • 3 recent passport size photographs
  • two letters of acceptance (one in Italian and one in English) from the Siena School indicating place, duration and exact dates of enrolment
  • a letter from the students’ parents or legal guardian stating that they accept full financial responsibility for the student during his/her stay in Italy

Additional documentation may be required, students must contact the nearest Italian Consulate or visit their website for details in order to avoid multiple visits to these offices.
