The Siena School for Liberal Arts offers a limited number of scholarships to outstanding students who demonstrate genuine financial need.  Scholarships are competitive and students should complete the Siena School for Liberal Arts application no later than November 1st or April 30th to be considered.
Scholarships are need-based and every student should apply following the regular application process. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required to be considered.

Purpose

The Siena School for the Liberal Arts scholarship program is designed to unlock the rich intellectual and cultural resources of the Siena community to a select number of highly motivated students interested in studying art, art history, language and linguistics or in pursuing interdisciplinary studies in the humanities. Scholarship recipients will work collaboratively with experienced and talented faculty members from Italy and around the world who provide students with intensive, hands-on learning experiences, help forge meaningful connections with the Siena community, and support students as they work to achieve their academic and personal goals.

How to apply

Scholarships are need-based. To apply for the scholarship, please visit our Semester Application page. Here students should complete the following information for consideration:

  • Siena School for Liberal Arts application form including Personal Essay and Scholarship Essay
  • Study Abroad Advisor authorization
  • Faculty Recommendation
  • Health form
  • Official College Transcript
  • Financial Statement from your home institution's Financial Aid Office

Scholarships are competitive and students should complete the Siena School for Liberal Arts application no later than November 1st for Spring semester or April 30th for Fall semester to be considered.

Scholarship Amounts

Scholarships range from €200 to €7,000 and are applied towards the cost of tuition during the Fall and Spring semesters. The scholarship does not cover the non-refundable deposit nor the cost of housing and meals. Please visit the Semester program details page for further information about program costs.

Requirements

Applications will be reviewed in the order in which they are received, and candidates are encouraged to reply as soon as possible. To qualify, applicants must be enrolled full time at a U.S. college or university. Awards will be made based on the following considerations:

  • academic record at home institution (a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required to be considered)
  • demonstrated financial need
  • recommendation from faculty member at home institution
  • consistency of proposed study in Siena with student's educational objectives at home institution
  • potential to enrich and be enriched by  the intellectual and cultural opportunities available in the Siena community

Student recipients are automatically enrolled in our Student Ambassador program which offers a leadership opportunity to students on their home campus. Student Ambassadors conduct presentations on their experience in Italy and on the Siena School program during study abroad fairs, classroom visits, and other events related to study abroad.
