Study Abroad for Deaf & Signers

This exciting three-week summer program offers signers an opportunity to engage in a Deaf-World that expands beyond America. This immersion program provides ASL users a foundation for transnational engagement that invites a fresh perspective on ASL as a visual and spatial language. Additionally, students will take basic Italian, providing them a tool to better navigate life in the city of Siena.

June 17-July 7

Program Courses

Italian Sign Language (LIS): 45 hrs

Italian Deaf Culture & History: 30 hrs

Italian Language: 15 hrs

Credits: 6

Program Cost

€ 3500 (includes tuition, accommodation in a double room, and program fees)

Application Deadline

March 15th

Requirements

ASL IV or equivalent. Good academic standing.
