Beach Bus: From Siena to the Mediterranean Coast!
From the end of May through Sept 10 2017 the Beach Bus is running from Siena to several points along Tuscany's coast. This convenient bus connection makes it super-easy to plan a day-trip get-away from Siena to the beaches of the Mediterranean!
The stops of the beach bus include many beautiful towns along Tuscany's coast including:
- Castiglione della Pescaia
- Marina di Grosseto
- Principina a Mare
- Argentario (with ferry connection to the island of Giglio)
- Follonica
- Piombino (with ferry connection to the island of Elba)
Most of the buses leave Siena around 7 or 7:30 in the morning and the return buses get you back to Siena between 8 and 9 pm.
Several beach spots offer rentals of lounge chairs and umbrellas, or you can bring your own gear to enjoy a day at the beach in the designated "free" sections. All stops have places with restaurants and bars and gelato if you don't want to pack your own picnic lunch. Be sure to bring sunscreen!
