Along the Bosham and Chichester Channels

Last week I was down along the coast at Wittering and Bosham on the south coast of England with my parents. Where the channels come in from the sea, East of Portsmouth, these stunningly beautiful areas of wildlife and tidal seascapes stretch for kilometers inland.  It was enchanting. Two beautiful days of stormy evening skies at low tide and warm bright sunshine with swans greeting us early in the morning at high tide, when the water reaches the houses on the front and brings the static beached boats back to bobbing life. The walk from West Wittering to Itchenor was expected to take us an hour and a half but as usual I dawdled, photographed and just stood listening to the gulls and other coastal birds and watched as the light changed, the clouds came over and the sea moved in again before dinner.
